The Cheese Course is expanding its locations across South Florida, bringing us a great variety of international cheeses.
The recently opened Cheese Course in Miami Midtown is the second location to the original in Weston. There is no question that South Florida needs a good cheese shop, what with all the wine we drink!
Though The Cheese Course is primarily in the cheese business, it does supply a good line of wines. They can be purchased and enjoyed onsite, without a corkage fee. The European-style shop also offers wines by the glass, with Castle Rock being their house brand, which is a decent choice. A few other good options are available for those who love to pair wine with cheese.
Wines were thoughtfully selected to compliment their six categories of cheese. These are categorized by texture, such as Hard Cheese, Semi Hard Cheese, Fresh Cheese, etc. The rule goes that lighter bodied wines match well with younger and milder cheeses, and heavy bodies wines go with full-flavored cheeses.
A menu of mouth watering sandwiches, all featuring cheese. Try the Grilled Chicken Breast with Fontina, tomatoes, basil pesto, roasted red onions, rosemary aioli, and greens on baguette. Or choose from a variety of cheese plates such as the 'Three Cheeses from One Region' category, which features plates from France, Italy, Spain, and the US.
Before leaving, take home cheese, wine, jelly, books on cheese, or any other gourmet snacks that steal your heart. The shop is also a breeding ground for great holiday gifts. Visit the website for a schedule of cheese classes, plus a host of information about cheese, including wine pairing.
